What requirements shall be enforced for transboundary pollution management?

During 2017-2018, a comprehensive legal analysis relevant to regulatory requirement of Thailand and Lao PDR on pollution management has been conducted by multi-disciplinary expert team (led by researchers and academics at CMU Law School). The key finding has confirmed that Thailand’s impact assessment regulatory requirements has been designed without concrete consideration of transboundary impacts caused by mega-project such as coal and dam. Further transboundary impact assessment is of needed; towards an integrated assessment of environmental and livelihood impacts that transboundary in nature.
